So I attempted my first mood board today, and I must say, it was interesting to try and decipher how I was feeling by just using pictures. This mood board in a way, represents the new brand and vision of my blog and brand. The colors and (in a certain way) style are what I feel represent the new direction of my blog. Last night Emma Bauso and I designed new business cards for The Tiny Professional and I cannot wait to see the final printed product in a couple weeks! The new design is sleek, clean and professional; exactly what I am for. While I initially wanted to go with a square-shaped business card design, once I saw how large the size actually was, I realized how inconvenient the design would be for individuals who carry business cards around in their wallets or purses. The cards would not fit, therefore, were not practical. In the end I decided on the traditional business card size, but I do not feel that it took away from the end design at all.
So what do you think about my first mood board? Not bad for just a newbie? What are some tips or hints to keep in mind when making a mood board? What inspires you?
I look forward to sharing my new business card design with you all soon! In the meantime, all bloggers should definitely give a mood board a try! I found it to be an extremely fun and creative project, especially since I don’t think of myself as a graphic designer or creative type!
Sooner than later,
The Tiny Professional
