East Side of the Lake

It is time to give an update on Matt and my first home buying process. It has been the world’s longest and >tallest roller coaster ride thus far. As our first home did not work out the way we planned we decided to sit back and strategize a new plan. I am a strong believer that everything in life happens for a reason and so far I feel like this new house was meant to be. We ended up choosing a home that needed a lot of cosmetic updates but had the square footage, open floor plan and potential that we wanted. After a nerve wracking “bidding” struggle with another prospective buyer, our offer was accepted. We decided to go with a local bank this time and I could not be happier with their service. Everyone there was wondering and our loan officer had our mortgage application, appraisal and commitment letter issued within two weeks! Now we just have to sit back and wait until the legal portion is completed. We are praying that we will be able to close before Christmas this year! We are excited to renovate our new home and I am hoping that the different projects will be something that Matt and I can bond over.

We decided on a neutral gray theme for the paint colors, flooring and counter top  My goal is to modernize the home and give it our own personal touch. I cannot wait to show my fellow bloggers the before and after pictures of the home.

Sooner than later,
