Finally the day is here!!!
We spent all night and morning prepping for the floors to finally start going in. They have been sitting in the garage waiting to be installed for weeks! Last night, Matt had a few of the guys from the fire department help carry all the boxes in the house to warm them up to the recommended 65 degrees. Then this morning we moved everything inside the house to the back and clean the prepped all the floors facing the front of the house. We bought floor leveler to fill the natural grain holes from the sub flooring and literally worked on our hands and knees, scrapping, sanding, ripping up missed nails and staples, and making sure the floor had minimum imperfections. We purchased an LVT vinyl flooring which is very thin and flexible, so any imperfections in the floor could potentially ruin the flooring down the road or even during the installation process.
